Dr. Martin Ordonez, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Power Converters for Renewable Energy Systems, is dedicated to exploring new possibilities in this emerging field. As an advisor, his objectives are to recognize the skills and develop the potential of his graduate students, helping them achieve their professional goals. As a researcher, Dr. Ordonez strives to explore, implement and develop the latest technologies and techniques in power conversion. His enthusiastic approach makes the educational and research process an enjoyable experience.
Emanuel presented an outstanding video talk on Advanced Control Functionalities for Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Converters winning the IEEE PELS Prize Ph.D. Thesis Talk (P3 Talk) Award which will be presented at The Eleventh Annual Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, at Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Last Monday, on the 29th of July 2019, Matthieu Amyotte successfully graduated from his MASc program in our lab. Right after graduation Matt successfully transitioned to the industry by taking a position at Corvus Energy, Richmond, BC. We congratulate Matt for achieving this significant milestone in his career and wish him success in all future endeavours!
Last Friday, on the 5th of July 2019, Mehdi Mohammadi successfully graduated from his PhD program in our lab. Right after graduation Mehdi successfully transitioned to the industry by taking a position at Fortinet Technologies (Canada).
